Location: Wimborne, UK (near Salisbury)

Reporting to: CEO

Salary: £65,000 – £75,000, dependent upon experience

Work Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH) or full-time office option

They are currently seeking a Group Financial Controller, which is the first of its kind, it is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to shape and define key financial strategies and processes.

About the Role

As the Group Financial Controller reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll manage operational responsibilities while acting as a strategic partner to the management team. This crucial role involves overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, and encompasses managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic department collaboration.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory & Compliance: Adhere to Consumer Duty rules and FCA guidelines, prepare accurate financial statements, and ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Company Liquidity: Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and implement strategies to optimize financial resources and minimize risks.
  • Accounting & Controls: Establish robust internal controls, collaborate with external auditors for audits, and oversee ERP system implementation and optimisation.
  • Reporting: Analyse financial data, manage budget variances, develop budgets, provide forecasts, and conduct financial analyses for strategic decisions.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead, manage, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Identify and implement necessary process changes and improvements.

Skills & Qualifications

  • ACCA or CIMA-qualified.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Financial Controller.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing a finance team.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify and implement process changes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Strong business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of financial issues.
  • Knowledge of Consumer Duty FCA principle 12.
