Clinical Engineer
Doctor turned Engineer (all experience levels considered)
London or Belfast (Hybrid)
Neulinx are supporting a health tech company that is building next generation AI driven clinical knowledge tools used by clinicians across the UK, Ireland and globally. Following a major Series A, they are growing their clinician-engineer team and are looking for doctors who genuinely enjoy technology and want to play a hands on role in shaping real products.
This is a rare hybrid role blending medicine, engineering and product thinking. Whether you’re early in your coding journey or already an experienced clinician-engineer, there’s room to grow, lead and contribute at a meaningful level.
What this role looks like
You’ll bring clinical insight into every product decision while helping design, build and ship features used by frontline clinicians. You’ll work alongside a small team of doctor-engineers and software engineers who care deeply about safety, performance and the impact this tech has in real clinical workflows.
Depending on your background, you could be doing anything from learning full stack fundamentals through structured mentorship, to leading architectural decisions and owning major features if you’re already at senior level.
Where you’ll contribute
• Translating real clinical workflows into intuitive product features
• Helping design tools clinicians can trust and use under pressure
• Building cloud first features using TypeScript, Node, React and AWS
• Contributing to serverless services and scalable system architecture
• Supporting the development of safe AI driven knowledge retrieval workflows
• Bringing clinical judgement into decisions that directly impact patient care
What you’ll bring
• A strong clinical background and a genuine interest in technology
• Curiosity, problem solving ability and a product mindset
• Desire to learn (or build upon) engineering skills
• A practical, thoughtful approach to shipping high quality work
Nice to have, but not essential
• Coding experience in TypeScript, JavaScript or Python
• Exposure to AWS or cloud environments
• Familiarity with LLMs, embeddings or RAG workflows
• Side projects or tools you’ve built
• Experience in fast paced environments or start ups
For more senior candidates
If you already have several years of engineering experience, you’ll have the opportunity to lead projects, mentor others, shape architecture and take real ownership of core systems.
Why this is worth a conversation
You’ll be joining a mission driven team at a pivotal point of growth, working on products that directly influence how clinicians make decisions every day. It’s hands on, meaningful and genuinely unique within health tech.
