Stage: Seed stage, YC-funded, £3m invested

About the role
Neulinx is looking for a Founding Engineer to work with an exciting Y Combinator-funded startup building browser-based agent technology to securely and reliably automate complex web tasks for modern organisations.
Backed by £3m in funding, the company already has world-renowned clients on board across the financial services and crypto sectors, and is now hiring its first non-founder engineer to help scale the product and platform.
This is a genuine founding engineer opportunity. Engineers in London and San Francisco take on high-ownership roles, working directly with customers to invent new ways to securely and reliably automate web workflows, shaping product direction and building the core infrastructure that keeps global companies secure.
The business plans to hire three additional software engineers as it continues to grow.
The role
You’ll work closely with the technical founders to design, build and scale core systems. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, learning quickly, and contributing across the stack in an early-stage startup environment.
As a Founding Engineer, you’ll have meaningful ownership from day one and a real voice in technical and product decisions.
Tech stack: React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Electron, Puppeteer
What you’ll be doing
- Building and shipping production features across frontend and backend
- Designing and developing secure, reliable browser-based agents
- Working on Electron applications and supporting platform services
- Collaborating directly with customers to understand problems and shape solutions
- Partnering closely with the founders on architecture and product direction
- Helping establish engineering best practices as the team scales
What we’re looking for
- 1+ years of commercial software engineering experience, or equivalent high-quality experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly
- Solid foundations in JavaScript and TypeScript
- Comfortable working across the stack in a fast-moving startup environment
- A good degree or Master’s in Computer Science or a scientific discipline
Nice to have
- Experience with browser automation or agent-based systems
- Exposure to Electron or desktop applications
- Previous early-stage startup experience
Why join
- YC-funded startup with strong early traction
- World-class customers in financial services, crypto and more.
- Work directly with two highly technical founders
- High ownership and real impact from day one
- Competitive salary with flexibility for exceptional candidates
- London base with opportunities to work from San Francisco
- Clear growth path as the engineering team expands
