Junior SQL Analyst

Role Overview

This role sits within the finance and data function, working closely with the CFO and wider business teams, with occasional collaboration with engineering. You’ll support reporting, insight generation and core data operations across the organisation. For someone early in their SQL career, this offers meaningful responsibility, technical growth and future opportunities to step into more advanced R&D or product-focused work.

Core Responsibilities

  • Writing and executing SQL queries for reporting, research and data extraction
  • Managing regular data uploads, synchronisation and automation tasks
  • Analysing large datasets to identify trends, insights and business opportunities
  • Creating and maintaining dashboards, reporting packs and data visual outputs
  • Supporting internal teams with data needs and requirements gathering
  • Performing data cleansing, validation and preparation
  • Developing stored procedures and functions where needed

Skills & Experience

  • Strong SQL capability including query writing, joins and optimisation
  • Comfortable working with structured data and reporting outputs
  • Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM/NAV systems beneficial.
  • Experience with BI or visualisation tools (PowerBI, Excel, Power Query etc)
  • Proactive communicator, organised and comfortable working remotely
  • Must hold the right to work in the UK

  • 1 to 2 years experience in a SQL or data-focused role
  • Naturally curious and detail-driven
  • Confident working independently and owning deliverables
  • Motivated by learning, development and progression
